About me
With 10 years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist and over 1,000 clinical hours, I bring a wealth of expertise to therapeutic bodywork. My commitment to advanced care is demonstrated through my continued professional development, including enrollment in comprehensive medical massage courses and a specialization in prenatal massage and bodywork. Complementing my hands-on skills is a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Occupational Therapy (OT). Occupational Therapy focuses on helping people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities (occupations). My passion for prenatal massage was sparked personally after the birth of my first child, when I struggled to find a comfortable and reliable place to receive a much-needed prenatal massage. This experience motivated me to create the specialized, supportive, and expert-level care that all expecting mothers deserve.

Types of Massage Techniques
Swedish Massage : This is the most common and classic style of massage, focusing on relaxation and relieving muscle tension through lighter, flowing strokes.
Goal: General relaxation, stress relief, and improving circulation.
Pressure: Typically light to moderate, though it can be adjusted.
Best For: First-time massage clients, those seeking stress reduction, and overall body relaxation.
Prenatal Massage: A therapeutic bodywork session specifically adapted for the unique needs of a pregnant person.
Goal: Alleviating common discomforts of pregnancy like back pain, sciatic nerve pain, joint swelling (edema), and improving sleep.
Techniques: Uses gentle and adaptive techniques similar to Swedish massage, but avoids deep pressure and certain acupressure points.
Positioning: Clients are typically positioned side-lying with specialized bolsters and pillows for safe and comfortable support, ensuring no pressure is placed on the abdomen.
Safety: Requires the therapist to have specialized training and knowledge of contraindications related to pregnancy.
Best For: Expectant mothers, usually during the second and third trimesters, seeking physical relief and relaxation.
Hot Stone Massage:A specialty massage that incorporates the use of smooth, heated stones as a therapeutic tool.
Goal: Deep muscle relaxation, increased circulation, and stress relief through the application of heat.
Techniques: The therapist uses hot stones (usually basalt, a volcanic rock) in two ways:
Placement: Stones are placed on specific points along the body (like the spine or palms) to warm and relax the muscles.
Extension of Hands: The therapist holds the stones and uses them to massage the body with long, gliding strokes.
Benefit: The heat penetrates muscles deeply, allowing the therapist to work on tension with less physical pressure, making the massage feel deeper without discomfort.
Best For: Individuals with muscle stiffness, chronic pain (like fibromyalgia), poor circulation, or those who want an extremely relaxing, warming experience.
Couples Massage: A shared experience where two people receive their individual massages at the same time, in the same room.
Goal: To provide a shared relaxation experience, promote bonding, and allow partners, family, or friends to spend quality time together.
Setting: Performed in a single, private room with two massage tables side-by-side.
Therapists: Two separate massage therapists work on each person simultaneously, often coordinating the flow of the session.
Styles Used: The type of massage performed is usually chosen by the clients (e.g., both could choose Swedish, or one could choose deep tissue while the other chooses Swedish).
Best For: Romantic dates, anniversaries, quality time with a friend or relative, or introducing a hesitant partner to massage therapy.
